Though I am the first to admit I am newer to the white wine game, Bay Moon sauvignon blanc blew me away with its price-to-value ratio. It’s a smooth, not too sweet Sauvignon Blanc. I would call it the perfect sip for a warm night with a breeze.

So, as I said earlier, I am much more knowledgeable in my red wine pallet than my white. That being said, I have found Sauvignon Blanc is my “transition” wine. What does that mean? Whenever you are trying to grow your pallet from red to white or white to red, you need to find one vitis vinifera variety (i.e., chardonnay, pinot noir, riesling, etc.) you like the most in the opposite color grape (red or white), and start there to help you diversify. For me, sauv blanc is it.
This sauvignon blanc is translucent and medium in color. It has an aroma that can bring a smile to anyone’s face. The citrus stands out to me as the strongest note, with melon and apples bringing it all together into something consistent. It instantly makes me long to be on a beach somewhere. When it comes to taste, though, melon is impressively the strongest to the tongue. The flavor is more sweet than dry and the body is light to medium.
Overall, I would give this tasting experience an 8/10. The price to value ratio is out of this world, and it is a safe pricepoint to test the waters on if you’re not sure if sauvignon blanc is the wine for you.
