Styling a Budget Friendly Maxi Dress 4 Ways

The summer season may be coming to an end, but here in Texas, we are still above 100 degrees after 9 PM! My bank account can’t handle many more big warm weather purchases (need to save some for fall!), so today, I will be styling a budget friendly maxi dress for the end of summer.

We will be styling the dress for:

  • A date night out
  • A day on the beach / vacay
  • Work in the office
  • Running errands – casual and chic

Meet the Affordable Maxi (only $16!)

One thing I love about this Amazon green patterned maxi (other than the price) is the fact it is so versatile. It can be dressed up for a date night or down for something such as a day at the beach! I’ll be sharing looks for both of these things (and more) below! This green is also one of the top runway colors for the season. Be ready to be high fashion but on a low, low budget!

My favorite part about all of these looks is I created them with your budget in mind. Everything linked here today (unless I am showing off a designer alternative) is under $50, with most things being under $25!

1 - Date Night Out

one shoulder green maxi dress with orange wedges

First up: a date night out! This dress makes for such an easy outfit (that will completely hide if you eat too much). Use a scrunchie to throw your hair into a high pony, grab your sunglasses and lipgloss, and let’s hit the town!

This cell phone purse is the perfect size for a night out! I love that it has a removable strap allowing it to be carried as either a clutch or a crossbody. For another great bag that I love and goes with everything (plus is environmentally sustainable!) click here!

I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again – I love how orange and green compliment each other when in the right setting. These wedges are so cute and an awesome summer to fall transition piece.

2 - Day at Sea

Grab your book (I have some great recs) and let’s head to the beach! How cute would this dress be as a coverup?! Love the one shoulder look and how well it goes with the bathing suit. You could totally wear it to drinks after a long day out and nobody would even see the suit strap. Throw on a sunhat, some glasses, and flip flops and you’d be ready to go in your low key transitioned look.

There is no better pool bag than a waterproof one! This is a dupe of the BOGG bag but for a fraction of the price.

3 - In the Office

Layering in a fitted navy or beige blazer takes this dress from summer chill to office casual.

A simple necklace (like this double stranded one) adds structure to the neckline of the dress. This is absolutely key if you work in a more formal environment.

Loving this feminine slide mule to pull the outfit together and add some color to the outfit. This shoe is only $15 and also comes in a black and a vibrant yellow!

4 - Casual and Chic

This is such an easy dress to throw on to run errands in. It screams put together but in an effortless way. Grab your coffee (in a cute to go cup, of course) and let’s get going!

This is the perfect bag to hold everything you need during a long day of errand running. Phone, laptop, keys … absolutely anything you need! Yall already know that I think a good navy accent piece is always an exciting find.

Loving this $16 mule as a throw on piece for running around town. The shade of brown goes with almost everything. You’ll be able to wear them into the fall season with jeans, and then again in the spring with a light colored dress.
