Wall Desk for your Home Office
Ever since working from home has become a more acceptable thing, I have been more appreciative than ever for my floating desk. It is adorable and sturdy, and I fully believe everyone who is working from a kitchen table set up needs to invest in one.
5 Reasons You Need a Floating Desk
1 - They Take up no Space
When I was searching for a desk for my smallish apartment, I immediately was stressed about the idea of finding one with enough surface area that wouldn’t look ridiculous shoved into a random corner of a room. A floating desk was the answer to all of my problems. It folds up into what looks like a little cabinet and is attached to the wall. You probably wouldn’t know what it was unless I pulled it out for you. Talk about a lifesaver. Also, they’re sturdy as heck since they’re attached to the literal building, which is always a plus.
2 - They Increase Productivity
When I was working from my kitchen table, I would get distracted whenever Harry needed to get water, or by dishes in the sink… you get the point. With the floating desk, I sit down, open the window for some natural sunlight, and get cranking. Other than my lunchtime workouts, I remain very focused throughout the day on what I need to do, which has allowed me time to maintain this blog and live the life I want.
3 - The Storage is Amazing
I’m sure not alllllll floating desks have this, but my personal one does. I love that I can keep my mouse, pen cup, coaster, important files, notebook, etc. all within the shelves of the desk. It really helps keep me organized and able to quickly find a pen when I need it.
4 - Having a Floating Desk Reduces Stress
I used to always feel so stressed out whenever I would have to clear my monitors/work set up from the table every night and weekend. Having a pile of my work things just sitting on the ground staring at me on a Saturday afternoon really made me feel like I needed to get more done. Now, with my floating desk, I can just fold up all of my work materials and laptop into the desk, and shut down completely. It puts my mind at ease.
5 - Wall Desks are Affordable
I know you could go get a random, ugly table from Ikea or Walmart and call that your “desk”, but finding one that is sturdy, halfway attractive, and a decent size can be tough. My folding desk fits my laptop, monitor, notebook for me to take notes, my massive water bottle, coffee cup, and mouse easily. All of my files and items I will ever need to access are right next to me and within reach. It’s perfect.
Floating Desks for your Home Office
If you live in a small space and don’t really have room for a full blown set up, the floating desk is the thing you need. It has absolutely changed my working from home experience entirely. No more working from my bed or kitchen table. Having a designated space has made everything so much better for me, and it will for you too.
