An Honest Review of the Shark Flexstyle Airwrap

Today I am going to be sharing with yall my review of the Shark Flexstyle Airwrap, why I went this route (vs. Dyson), and the places I have found it in stock at the lowest prices. Of all of the items I own and talk about across my platforms, this may be THE product I get the most questions about which makes me excited to share more!

Background into my Shark Airwrap Review

I’ve never been the girl who really spent a lot of money or focused my energy on “trending” hair styling devices (outside of having a Chi straightener in 7th grade … that was a must). My straightening iron is the same one I’ve had since high school, and my curling wand was a whopping $12 at TJ Maxx cerca 2014 and still does the trick here a decade later.

All that to say, you know I did my due diligence before spending several hundred dollars on the Shark Airwap and, in my humble opinion, it has been worth every penny.

My Longtime Hunt for a Good Styling Tool

It wasn’t the airwrap technology that spurred my interest in the Shark Airwrap – it was its drying capabilities.

I have a ton of hair, and my entire adult life I have DREADED hair wash days due to the sheer amount of time and wrist strength it takes to hold a hair dryer long enough to get my hair to a semi dry spot. At one point, I purchased the Revlon Drying Round Brush (which, on a budget, is a wonderful buy). It helped my situation, but I found that because of my hair’s thickness I still struggled to get my roots completely dry.

A Learning Curve and a Personal Case Study: The Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer and Airwrap

Over New Years, I went to Denver to stay with my friend Brooke. While there she let me use her  Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer and play with her Dyson Airwrap. I was stunned by the speed in which the hairdryer conquered my hair! And it wasn’t frizzy! This was a huge win for me and for Dyson. I began making plans to purchase the Dyson hairdryer when I got back to Texas.

The Dyson Airwrap was a huge learning curve for me. It took me almost an hour and a hair with dry hair to curl my whole head the first time I used it. That said, I was determined, and my hair did end up looking absolutely fabulous that night. I have selfies of myself from *cough* 4:30 AM *cough* in a bathroom looking absolutely too rough to share here but with great looking hair (side note: God bless Brooke).

When I got home from Denver I went to buy the Dyson hairdryer, and was honestly a little blown away by the price tag. This is when I discovered the existence of the Shark Flexstyle Airwrap … a hairdryer and wrap all in one. Was it too good to be true?

How I Justified the Price of the Shark Flexstyle

The Shark Flexstyle Airwrap is cheaper than the Dyson hairdryer AND has all of the features to be a two-in-one for the hairdryer and the airwrap. I figured as long as the hairdryer worked just as well, the purchase would be justified and the airwrap feature would be an added bonus.

My Honest Shark Airwrap Review

I am literally obsessed with this dang thing! The other day on a work call I did a full blown tutorial of it for a colleague via Teams (lol). It is lightweight and effective. My hair has never gotten dry faster or looked so smooth. While there is for sure a learning curve with it, I do believe it is worth the price and makes my hair look like I am leaving a blow dry appointment without the cost. If you have been on the fence about buying it, I 1000% advise you to take the leap. It has been a game changer for me timewise when getting ready and I’m yet to leave the house not loving how it’s made me look.
