Styling Orange as this Season's Trendiest Color
It’s getting hot and bright in all areas of the country (fellow southerners … IYKYK). Though I never thought I would admit this as a Sooner’s fan, but I am currently completely on board with orange as this season’s trendiest color! It is bright, warm, and invigorating. I am so excited to style this shade with yall today!
In today’s post, we will be styling orange:
- as a pattern
- as a contrast
- with neutrals
- as an accessory
- on a budget
- BONUS look (that I just had to share)
My Favorite Things About Orange in Fashion
1. It is a symbol of energy and positivity
Orange in literature is representative of positive energy and happiness. What’s not to love about that?
2. It looks good on just about every skin tone
Unless you’ve recently gotten a bad spray tan, odds are the color orange will look good on you! Bonus points if you have light eyes or a darker complexion (or both).
3. It can be styled in a multitude of ways
Wear it as a solid, a pattern, or a simple add on (through your accessories or even your nail polish). Orange is such a fun color to play around with. I styled it in my article earlier this week as a pattern for the beach!
Crushing hard on the color orange? Check out my last color crush of this season, lavender!
Fashion's Favorite: How to Style Orange this Season
Look 1: Orange as a Pattern
Looks 2 & 3: Orange as a Contrast
Orange looks shockingly good with other royal and rich colors such as emerald and turquoise. I personally love it with purples the most!

Looks 4 & 5: Orange with Neutrals
I love that orange can add that nice little pop of color to any outfit! It’s such a great, easy way to change up an otherwise neutral closet. This can be done as part of the outfit (here) or as an accessory (see below).
Look 6: Orange as an Accessory
Okay here me out … these shoes are a bit of a splurge compared to most things I have on here … but they are so cute and go with everything! Worth it 😉
Look 7: Orange on a Budget
HOW is this dress under $40?! It is such a stunning midi that I know anyone will get a ton of wear out of. Here is how I would style it for brunch in the city, but it could also be worn as a coverup for the beach!
Bonus Look: Orange as the Main Attraction
I stumbled upon this dress while hunting down accessories and decided I just HAD to give it its own moment. How cute is it for summer? You could even layer it and wear it to work!
