Warm weather fashion trends are on my mind today! This includes spring fashion trends and maybe even a little summer fashion trend action.
Though the deep freeze just thawed in the Texas sun, it is already beginning to feel like spring in Dallas. This weather has me excited for change. A new season to shop for and, as a blogger, new looks to shoot for. Something about the slightly sticky Texas spring air is such a vibe to me. It brings me joy. And voluminous, frizzy hair…
When it comes to finding out what trends are sure to hit the market in the coming months, I always turn to Vogue, my most reliable fashion source. Though some of their reported trends are obviously too rambunctious for the average person walking on the street, they do report all the top styles seen on the runway for the upcoming seasons. This means even styles the plebeians of this earth (you and me) can get on board with are included.

Fashion Trends for Spring / Summer 2021
Trends that you and I can rock (on a budget) this upcoming spring and summer are:
Mini Skirts
Forget the yoga pants and jeans. It’s time to show those legs off in some mini skirts (or skorts)! The best thing about a mini skirt is its ability to give you confidence no matter what your body looks like. A proper fitting skirt will hit right below the “problem zone” and make you look like you have legs for days. Sign me up!

Trousers / Wide Legged Pants
Forget the joggers and the comfies. It is time to pull those trousers out of hiding and rock them back to the office! These pants are the most flattering of all time. Get the leg wide enough and they can make your waist essentially disappear. Who doesn’t want that? I have a feeling this trend will be here to stay for a little bit.

A fabulous quote from the oh so chic Christian Siriano, “bold shoulders have been around for a while, and at this point they’re pretty much a wardrobe staple.” Rumor has it this is going to be the trend this year, so get ready.

Remaining in Style from the Season Before
Don’t go packing up these items just yet! It is predicted they will stay in style throughout the spring and come back again in the fall.
Trench Coats
I did a whole article on how to amplify your winter wardrobe with a trench coat, not knowing they were going to be a trend coming into the new year as well! A good trench can up your sophistication points and make you look pulled together even if you aren’t pulled together.

Knits of All Kinds
While knits in the summer are a tough sell for someone living in Texas, I truly love the durability and long lasting nature of a good one. This last year I found the perfect affordable sweater that comes in every color imaginable, and have worn the heck out of it (pictured above). I also experimented with a knit dress, which was very cozy, might I add. My suggestion: stock up some knits on sale this year that you can wear this upcoming fall and winter. Something tells me they aren’t going anywhere.
