Honeymoon Outfits you need to see from our San Miguel Vacay

What we Wore on our Honeymoon | San Miguel Outfits

Let me start by saying – planning honeymoon outfits is SO tough. My San Miguel outfits were all picked out, changed, tried on, changed… again and again until literally the day before our wedding!

In today;s article, I am going to be sharing:

  • A few packing tips
  • Links to some of the places I had the most success shopping for honeymoon attire
  • My San Miguel honeymoon outfits (and some of Harry’s!)

One quick note before I begin. In San Miguel de Allende, the climate was warm. Whether you are going to Mexico, Hawaii, or anywhere else above 70 degrees for your special trip, my outfits will work for you!

A Few Quick Packing Tips

As I started this article saying, packing is tough! Here are a few of my favorite packing tips for any trip, but especially your honeymoon:

  • Try on all outfits together ahead of time. Nothing is worse than getting to your destination and realizing you either are 1) missing part of the outfit or 2) the outfit looks hideous together
  • Always research the weather and pack for any potential changes. Anything above 30% rain typically means there is at least a chance, so plan accordingly
  • Learn what the terrain is before packing shoes. Nothing is worse than walking up hills in heels!
  • On the shoe note: try to make each pair of shoes go with as many outfits as possible. It’ll save you some serious suitcase room (and help keep your suitcase under the allotted airport amount)!
  • Use gallon sized ziplock baggies to store your clothes and help compress them in your bag. This will save space and keep you from forgetting part of an outfit.
  • Invest in a jewelry travel bag (the one linked is under $20!) to help you remember to take everything you took on your trip back home with you. This also keeps your earrings from losing backs and your necklaces from becoming tangled.

Places I Found the Best Pieces for San Miguel

To save you time and energy, I have linked alllll of my favorite places that I shopped for our honeymoon! These fabulous places are:

Our San Miguel Outfits

Because Harry and I were sick part of the time we were on our vacay, I was unable to wear all of the outfits I packed. That said, I still want to share with you the ones I did wear, and the transitions I made during our healthy days!

Day to Night #1

Our first day there, Harry and I took a cooking class in town. My outfit for that was super simple because it HOT and I knew we would be walking some. I wanted to be cute but also not overdo things.

About the outfit: My tank had the prettiest jacquard detailing and adjustable straps, which was amazing since I really didn’t want to wear a bra with it while sweating. I paired it with my go to denim shorts for this summer. They’re high waisted and so flattering. The best thing about them? They aren’t cheeky! Which is so hard to find these days. I loved that my top went so well with my snake and rose pink sneakers!

For nighttime, I opted for a casual chic outfit (and a glass of wine). All of the pieces I wore that night were go-tos. My skirt was under $30 and got to me in under three days; the sweater was oversized and perfect to complete the chill, relaxed vibe, and my shoes are a pair I wear literally spring til fall every year. I kept on the same earrings and necklace that I had worn all day, though you can’t see them in the photo. Harry opted for a blue Peter Milar polo with shorts. We had dinner that night in a romantic booth on the rooftop of our hotel with views of the entire city.

Day to Night #2

Harry loves tequila, so we ended up going to a tequila tasting at the Casa Dragones official tasting room. I wore a blue Pink Lily romper to match the theme 🙂 The romper came wit a belt, but I swapped it out for one with a buckle because I loved the trendy look. Because it was so sunny, I made sure to bring my sunglasses along for the ride. White sneakers were the way to go this day as well because of the hills. As of late, I have become addicted to using the Slip skinny hair ties because they don’t get caught in your hair. Because of the sun basking down on us, bringing a pack of these along with me was the right move! I used them to tie my hair back the entire time.

We got an early start that evening with some cocktails on the patio before dinner on the La Unica rooftop. Because it was still hot when we started getting ready, I opted for a look that could be transitional. I wore a deep V beige sundress which was perfect for the occasion. I loved that it was adjustable and could be tied multiple different ways. This look was paired with a pair of my favorite braided heeled sandals (sold out but linking where to find similar).

When it started to cool down later that night, I topped the dress with an oversized, plaid blazer (boutique find, but linking similar). It was a chic, yet cozy look. Harry opted for a pink Peter Milar polo and navy Bonobos pants.

Day to Night #3

After many days of being ill, the last day of our trip was officially the third and final time we were able to dress up and do anything. That day, we started our morning in a cabana by the pool. I wore a one piece swimsuit that had an open back (perfect for getting some sun!) and a pink cover up! Whenever I wanted to get up to go to the bathroom, I threw on the shorts I wore day 1 just because they were so quick to get on and off.

My toe color was the Bubble Bath gel polish 🙂

After lounging by the pool, I threw on the cutest comfy romper and some sandals to walk around the resort, really just soaking everything in!

Because we had lost so many days on our trip, I knew we had to make up for lost time and go somewhere fun for dinner! That night – I went all out. I wore a brown corset top with a pair of my favorite trouser pants. This look went amazing with my brightly colored Kendra necklace and matching earrings! I finished off the look with my custom white leather moto jacket and a vintage silk headscarf. Harry opted for a blue striped polo and grey Bonobos pants.
