Today on the blog: my first Valentine’s Day with Kyle at a destination wedding, and my Miami wedding guest outfits I just had to show off.
Miami Wedding Guest Outfits
This past weekend, Kyle and I celebrated our first Valentine’s Day together in Miami! It was a beautiful weekend full of giggles and toasts, and I cannot have imagined a better time with this cutie guy of mine. I’m excited to share my packing experience getting ready for the weekend and then all of my Miami wedding guest outfits (from rehearsal to welcome party and everywhere in between).
Winter to Warm Weather Packing
Coming from Chicago, I struggled with packing the right items for this particular trip … because what do you mean it’s going to be almost 80 degrees? We also were going to multiple nights of celebrations but didn’t want to check bags. I ended up sacrificing on the shoe front in order to have some extra accessory options to choose from for the outfits I was up-in-the-air about, and I’m very glad I did! At the end of the day, people may notice your shoes are cute, but I find that they rarely are concerned if you’re repeating the same pair at a big event like this.
Hanza Hack! for packing shoes for a destination event
Just pack one: at the end of the day, people may notice your shoes are cute, but I find that they rarely are concerned if you’re repeating the same pair over several nights to big events at destination locations. Just make sure the ones you do opt to wear are comfortable enough to bop around in multiple nights in a row!Â
Miami Wedding Guest Outfits for a Winter Wedding
Call me an aesthetic snob, but I love finding cute restaurants and spots wherever I go. Our fabulous bride of the weekend, Sydney, blew me away with how she found so many chic spots and turned them completely into her own! I’d been to Miami multiple times before this trip but had never been to anywhere on the weekend’s itinerary before. That said, I would return to every one of them. All are included in the write ups (along with the outfits) below.
My Tropical Wedding Guest Style
A Very Miami Cocktail Rehearsal Dinner
The rehearsal dinner was at this adorable restaurant called Glass & Vine, and yall know I absolutely ate a restaurant mentioning wine in the name right up! It had a lovely patio, live music, and even a playground next door for kids to run and play. The steak frites were excellent and I managed to eat everything without running into an issue with my Canola allergy (important).
Lunch in Coconut Grove, Miami
The next day, Kyle and I had a little time to kill and decided to hop into town for lunch. We ended up at this adorable Mexican restaurant called Koko which was such a vibe! I loved every bit of their ambiance and have so much praise for whomever did their branding. My outfit also fit the bill.
Miami Chic: A Coastal Welcome Party
That night, we attended the couple’s welcome party which was at a private bar in Regatta Grove, the newest and hottest waterfront entertainment center. I brought out my feather fan, which ended up being such a fun conversation starter.
A Luxe, Hidden Paradise: the Miami Wedding
The wedding took place in a place I would have never found on my own that fit the bride and groom perfectly: the Historic Palm Lodge. Home to many plants and lots of historical significance, this property was the most beautiful spot to wed the sweet couple, and the details were incredible!
